Additional Information:
• These roles are 30hrs/fortnight.
• The internal job title for this position is IKEA Food Co-worker
• As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts (from 8am to 9pm). You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday).
About this work area
As a Food Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Ensuring your area is efficiently maintained in compliance with Food standards by keeping it clean, organised, attractive and inviting to provide a positive customer experience.
• Processing dishes and maintaining the washing up area and machines whilst supporting and maintaining the cleanliness of the customer restaurant.
• Inspecting food items for quality freshness.
• Take corrective actions to ensure consistency when cooking food.
• Food preparation, cooking (operations of ovens and fryers), serving and customer service with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels and cooking methods.
• Prioritising strict cooking timelines and multi-tasking under pressure during rush hours.
As a Food Co-worker, you are or have:
• Passionate, committed, and have a love for food in its quality and presentation.
• Experienced with working in a fast paced, hands-on environment. Previous hospitality and cookery experience is highly regarded.
• Enthusiastic about working within a team of like-minded people.
• Able to follow strict IKEA Food and HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety, including temperature and date checks.
• Previous commercial cooking experience is highly valued.
