Some of your primary duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Operational:
- Serve as the Food Safety Supervisor for our restaurant and café, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Oversee food preparation for practical and demonstration classes, maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to update student dietary requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate student catering activities, including fundraisers and pop-up cafes, while liaising with suppliers to maintain certification and food safety standards.
- Manage resources, equipment, and inventory, conducting regular stock takes and facilitating food auditing procedures.
- Maintain facilities and equipment, liaising with maintenance teams and contractors to ensure optimal functionality.
- Provide guidance and instruction on specialised processes and dietary requirements, developing and maintaining class timetables.
- Audit food safety procedures in the restaurant and café, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
- Support curriculum planning and resource development for food studies classes, collaborating with department heads.
- Collect and manage timesheets, oversee food safety procedures, and maintain cleanliness in storage and kitchen areas.
- Implement recommendations from internal audits, third-party inspections, and council evaluations.
- Evaluate and recommend equipment purchases, support curriculum planning, and contribute to departmental strategies.
- Initiate projects aligned with departmental goals, collaborating with internal departments and external suppliers.
- Support the development and updating of documentation and policies as needed.
- Assist teachers during practical classes and provide support in commercial kitchens as required.
- Ensure compliance requirements are met for contractors and conduct cleaning duties in classrooms.
- Demonstrate equipment and processes to teachers and students, offering guidance on specialist techniques.

About You
- Relevant post-secondary certificate, or trade qualification or gained from appropriate on the job relevant experience
- Previous experience in food, food hygiene, kitchen operations and all aspects of food service
- Knowledge and understanding of OH&S requirements
- Victorian Food Safety Supervisors Qualification – 3.2.2A Compliant (Certificate to be provided)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proven ability to be organised, plan and meet scheduled timelines
- Excellent computer skills
- A current Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Be open to ideas, striving for excellence and have a high level of integrity
