We are currently seeking a permanent part time Kitchen Assistant to work in residential aged care in Torquay. Various shifts available including morning, afternoon etc. Mon-Sunday shifts available. Weekend work available.

The role:
- Assist in preparation of high quality food and meals
- Meet the needs of all consumers by ensuring dietary requirements are met
- Liaise with care staff and nursing staff about specific dietary requirements including modified diets.
- Provide meal plans, update menus in conjunction with a dietician
- Demonstrate customer service, be efficient in communication with consumers and relatives
- Provide consumers with choice
- Monitor and complete ordering of food supplies
A successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working in a similar role in an Aged Care environment
- A passion for working in Aged Care
- A strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Work well within a team environment to serve healthy and delicious food
- Attention to detail
Essential requirements:
- Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or higher, current Food Safety Supervisor Training (Health & Community) - HLTFSE001, HLTFSE005 and HLTFSE007
- A certified Food Handling certificate (HLTFSE001) is essential for this role.
- Experience working in an Aged Care environment would be well regarded
- Police Check (Aged care/Vulnerable People specific)before commencement of role
- Current flu and COVID-19 vaccination
