Food Service Assistant (514440)

The role:

We are seeking a motivated Food Services Assistant to assist our passionate Food Services team located at the Mersey Community Hospital.

Primary hours of service will be between 9am and 2:30pm on weekdays, however additional shifts outside these times may be available.

This role will primarily be working to assist in a range of tasks, including food preparation, customer service, receival and storage of deliveries, cleaning, and assisting in ad hoc tasks. The ideal candidate will:

• Be motivated, flexible, and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Kitchen Hand or Food Service experience will be highly regarded.
• Be a self-starter who is able to prioritise work and complete tasks in an efficient yet effective manner.
• Have an understanding of appropriate WH&S legislation and codes of practice have the ability to communicate with patients, visitors and staff, of all levels and hold knowledge and experience in the food preparation, production, and service industry.
• Have sound communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build a good rapport with colleagues and staff

Details of Appointment

Permanent part time, shift-worker position working up to 55 hours per fortnight, commencing from late March 2024. Casual vacancies also available

Casual staff may also be considered from this process.

• Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $55,466 - $57,712 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

• Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

4. crimes involving dishonesty
