Our Journey:
Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide Food Services, Central Production Kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
Shifts Available
Permanent part-time position
Week 1 - 3 Wednesday and Thursday 9.30am – 6.00pm
Week 4 Wednesday 9.30am – 6.00pm
(28 hours per fortnight)
Central Production Kitchen (CPK3)
The Central Production Kitchen based at Kingston centre requires a qualified Food Services Assistant to their team. The ideal candidate will enjoy working within a committed team who strive to consistently deliver high quality.
A Day in the Life:
The Food Services Assistant based in the Central Production Kitchen at Kingston is responsible for washing and sanitising of items in kitchen areas and equipment. Responsibilities of a Food Services Assistant include (but not limited to)
- Dish washing
- Washing and sanitising equipment and kitchen areas
- Cleaning patient trays
- Accurately assemble tray supplies and food on tray line
- Regeneration of meals for patients, residents and functions as required
- Strip, sort, sanitise and clean all trays, cutlery and utensils
- Completing all food safety documentation in a timely manner
- Plating, deliver and collection of meals
About You:
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health.
- A proactive approach and team player
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete while working alone or as part of a cohesive team.
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment
What you need:
- Current Food Handlers Certificate – Level 1
- Food Handling Certificate (SITXFSA001) – Use hygienic practices for food safety
- Comprehensive understanding of diet codes, texture modified foods and fluids, food allergies and intolerances
- Established knowledge of Monash Health processes and procedures
- Ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
