Our Journey
Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide Food Services, central production kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services. We are seeking customer focused Food Services Assistants to join the team at Monash Medical Centre – Clayton. We currently have the following positions available:
Food Services Assistant Positions
AM Shifts
Position 1 – Part-time (Ongoing)
Week 1 Wednesday, Thursday 6:45-15:15
Sunday 6:45-13:45
Week 2 Monday 6:45-13:45
Thursday, Friday 6:45-15:15
Week 3 and 4 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 6:45-15:15
(46.5 hours per fortnight)
Position 2 – Part-time (Ongoing)
Week 1, 2 and 4 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 6:45-15:15
Week 3 Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 6:45-15:15
(48 hours per fortnight)
Position 3 – Part-time (Ongoing)
Week 1 and 2 Monday, Saturday, Sunday 6:45-13:45
Week 3 Monday, Sunday 6:45-13:45
Week 4 Monday, Saturday, Sunday 6:45-13:45

Week 2 and 4 Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday 13:30-18:30
(19.5 hours per fortnight)
Position 9 – Part-time (Ongoing)
Food Services Assistant – Monash Medical Centre - Clayton (Pool)
AM and PM shifts available
(62.30 hours per fortnight)
We also have a range of vacant PM shifts commencing 12:30, 13:30, 15:00, 16:00 and 16:30, if you are interested in these shifts or any of the positions listed, please list your available days and times / positions of interest in your cover letter.
A Day in the Life:
- The main focus for a Food Services Assistant is on delivering an exceptional patient meal experience and willing to work within the values of Monash Health.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Cleaning within a Food Services environment to meet Food Safety Compliance
- Kitchen hand duties (Scullery)
- Cleaning of kitchen equipment
About You:
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health.
- A proactive approach and team player
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete while working alone or as part of a cohesive team.
- A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment
What you need:
