Food Services Assistant - Casual or Part Time
Maryvale Private Hospital is on an exciting growth trajectory with a $16m redevelopment benefiting Gippslanders.
As a part of our hospital growth, we’re seeking dynamic individuals to join our catering department to support the wider hospital team in the role of Food Services Assistant. The Food Services Assistant provides a high level of customer service and efficient service delivery to our patients, doctors, staff and visitors in a safe and courteous manner.
As the Food Services Assistant you will be required to assist in the preparation, delivery and service of meals to patients and staff while working within a team environment. There are casual positions available for the successful applicants to accept a range of shifts throughout the week and weekends.
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Good time management skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of Food Hygiene Procedures
- Perform role within the guidelines of an approved Food Safety Plan
- Ability to work as a team and perform tasks independently
Remuneration:
Remuneration is paid in line with Maryvale Private Hospital Support Services Enterprise Agreement (2023)
- Casual: Hourly rate (based on experience) between $26 - $27.50 per hour plus casual loading and superannuation

Qualifications & Experience
The following qualifications and experience are desirable, however on the job training can be provided for less experienced applicants:
- Food handlers certificate
- Recent experience within a health care facility (or equivalent)
- Understanding of infection control guidelines
- Knowledge of manual handling principles and environmental hygiene standards
