Food Services Assistant

Mercy Health is seeking Food Service Assistants to care for and provide meal services to our residents at Mercy Place Parkville, our 140 bed residential aged care home, located in Parkville.

• Part-time /casual position's available
• Located at Mercy Place Parkville
• Reporting to the Catering and Housekeeping Manager, you will provide assistance with delivery, preparation and heating of meals according to individual residents dietary requirements
• Ensure dining areas and kitchen are kept tidy and in a safe state at all times
• Adhoc cleaning duties as required

ABOUT YOU:

• Food Safety Handler certificate – Level 1 ( Desirable)
• Experience in large-scale catering and Aged Care is highly desirable
• Ability to operate in a team environment and prioritise during peak periods
• A passion for great food service whilst being customer and safety focused
• An understanding that producing nutritious meals is an important part of home life for residents (and their families)

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Candidates are required to meet the position and qualification requirements.
• Provide a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check (Mercy Health may conduct additional background checks subject to current legislation).
• Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with Mercy Health’s policy (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement).
