Food Technologist

Our business is going through rapid growth and as a result we are seeking a Food Technologist to join our Technical and Quality Assurance team in our Morley head office.

About the role:

The main focus of this role will be to provide quality and technical support to ensure the facilities, processes and products meet quality and food safety standards, and our product specification and customer requirements are in line with our internal Quality Manual.

Your duties will include (but aren’t limited to):

• Identify, evaluate, and control of food safety hazards and incidents - follow through to isolation of product and/or process.
• Conduct Internal audit and GMP as scheduled within Aus Pie Co Quality Manual.
• Review raw material specifications in conjunction with the Regulatory and R&D Team.
• Draft and implement SOP’s, work instruction, QC sheets and Quality Attribute Sheets with each change or introduction of new process.
• Analyse process control trends and input into improvement for quality products.
• Conduct food safety and quality verification activities as per the agreed schedule/HACCP plan.
• Actively participate in the close-out of Corrective Action Reports (CAR’s) and close-out of Hazards / Incidents as relevant.
• Work alongside other departments such as R&D team, Manufacturing Dept and HSE Dept, to ensure continued process improvement and quality function relating to accountability and aligning to business needs.
• Any other duties directed by Site Quality Assurance Manager and consistent with the duties and responsibilities set out in this position description.

About you:

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic individual who possesses the following:

• Prior experience in a similar role process driven and analytical role, within a food manufacturing and/or FMCG environment. 
• A passion for following processes and ensuring identified errors are resolved and continued improvement is accomplished.
• A genuine interest in food with the capability to provide visual and palatable feedback on our products, to ensure food safety requirements are met and end user satisfaction is obtained.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability with high attention to detail being vital.
• An approachable, friendly personality who can work as part of a small team. 
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
• Good communication (verbal / written) and interpersonal skills across varying people demographics and all branches of the business.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Understanding of project management principles.
