Founded in 2017 by Benjamin Humphrey and Bradley Ayers, Dovetail has 100+ employees across offices in Sydney and San Francisco. The FP&A Analyst will play a key role in the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes within Dovetail. You’ll be providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and help drive the company's financial performance.
Senior Financial Accountant
Head of Operations
Financial planning & analysis. You’ll be developing and maintaining financial models to support forecasting and budgeting processes; assisting in preparing the annual budget and periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and conducting variance analysis to compare actual results with budgeted figures, identifying trends and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
SaaS metrics analysis. You’ll monitor and analyze key SaaS metrics such as ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue), MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue), churn rates, LTV (Lifetime Value), and CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost) and provide regular updates to senior management, highlighting areas of improvement and potential risks.
Reporting & presentation. You’ll prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management, including presenting financial analysis and reports for board meetings and investor updates. You’ll also support the development of dashboards and visualizations to enhance data presentation and decision-making.
Business partnership. You’ll collaborate with various functions to gather relevant data and insights to support financial planning and analysis and act as a financial advisor to each functional lead helping them understand financial performance and make data-driven decisions.
Process improvement. You’ll support the implementation and enhancement of financial planning systems and tools to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and analysis. You’ll identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices in financial planning and analysis.
You’ll have a background in finance and accounting and 2-4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, relevant certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
You’ll have a strong understanding of SaaS business models and metrics.
You’ll be proficient in financial modelling and data analysis with advanced knowledge of Google Sheets. This role requires a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of financial principles. Experience with 3-way financial model is a plus.
You’ll have a strong ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
You’ll be a great problem-solver and feel comfortable working in ambiguity.
