French Speaking Learning Support Officer

Role Description/Criteria

OLOL offer a French immersion program through a partial immersion program. Rather than the traditional method of a single language lesson once a week, all our students and teachers now have a daily French language lesson. This model of partial immersion is building student and staff capacity to use functional French language every day at OLOL.

Our Lady of Lourdes is looking for a fluent French-speaking classroom assistant/ Learning Support Officer (LSO) to continue to embed this exciting contemporary approach to language learning. 

The Applicant will:

• Be an enthusiastic, energetic French speaker. 
• Support the acquisition of French for both staff and students of OLOL
• Will be supported to create teaching resources such as mini videos and word games
• Work with staff and students to develop and embed the French language
• Be embraced by a warm and experienced staff
• Be required to present a Working with Children Check by January 2023 and adhere to all Child Safety processes and policies of the school

The applicant does not require any teaching qualifications but rather will adhere to the position requirements of Learning Support Officer (Classroom assistant). The applicant does not have to be Catholic but must be willing to support the Catholic ethos of the school.

This position would be ideal for a parent of school-aged children as you automatically receive paid school holidays and the working hours can be discussed. This position is Monday - Friday and the work hours can be flexible (22 hours per week).
