The practice has 7 (FTE) vets, and a modern, well-equipped building with 2 sterile theatres, Vetscan in-house biochemistry, haematology, and urinalysis machines, Imagyst faecal and cytology analysers, Canon DR digital radiography, IM3 digital dental radiography and My Lab ultrasound machine. They also regularly host visiting specialists in imaging, internal medicine, and surgery.EXPERIENCED FULL TIME OR PART TIME VET POSITIONAre you tired of back-to-back 15-minute consultations with no time to breathe? Are you exhausted from being over-booked and over-worked? Do you want to practice gold-standard veterinary medicine and surgery within a general practice setting?Primary consultations are 30-minutes each and this modern practice is staffed adequately to manage clients' needs to prevent employee burn-out. Our lovely client provides consult-free time and pre-entered urgent appointment blocks to prevent vets being double-booked and allow time to breathe during the day! They also have a dedicated Customer Care Team which allows their Nursing Team to focus on nursing and support for the vets rather than getting tied up on the phone.About the roleGVC are seeking an experienced veterinarian, who is comfortable working across both surgery and consulting shifts, to join our wonderful client as a permanent employee on either a Full or Part-time basisFull Time Vet Roster.
A permanent full-time position based on 38 hours per week. Your weekly roster will include 1-2 surgery shifts and 3-4 consulting shifts, including a shared weekend roster of 1 in 2 Saturdays and 1 in 8 Sundays plus 2 Public Holidays per year. There is very little sole-charge work required.They fully encourage work-life balance so there are no after-hours on-call work, as they refer locally to The ARH.What we require
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in small animal medicine and surgery
- Must be currently registered with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of VIC (or with another Australian state vet board)
- At least 2 professional references (preferably including a previous employer)
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Full (unrestricted) working rights in Australia.
