Full-time Area Manager Circular Economy
City Mission is seeking a capable and enthusiastic leader with both Retail and Recycling experience to work with our Operations Manager Circular Economy to oversee the Recycling and Resale operations of City Mission, principally on the North-West Coast.
This role requires the successful applicant to lead a team of paid and volunteer workers across various sites with different complexity of operations.
Additionally, the position requires the Area Manager to develop working relationships with management, peers, workers, council employees, the general public, stakeholders and other functional areas within the organisation.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar management position.
- Experience in Recycling, Circular Economy and Waste Management.
- Experience in a Retail environment preferably in a charitable sector
- Ability to implement legislation pertaining to Logistics, Recycling, Resale, Waste and Work Health and Safety requirements.
- Ability to manage a diverse team including paid and unpaid workers over multiple locations.
- Demonstrated innovative strategic thinking and planning.
- Strong relationship building, communication and analytical skills.
- Skills in management reporting and budgeting.
- Ability to multi-task, plan and manage a team to achieve tight deadlines.
- Highly proficient with MS Office.
- National police check is required for all roles at LCM.
- Working with Vulnerable People Card (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience or demonstrated capacity to work in an organisation adopting a Christian ethos.
- Experience in developing and achieving assigned tasks within an organisational strategic planning framework.
The Area Manager Circular Economy supports the Operations Manager Circular Economy in the management of the Resale, Recycling and Waste Management Network of the City Mission in a region of Tasmania. The position requires the employee to develop positive working relationships with workers, the public, stakeholders (including Government) and other functional areas within the organisation.
Primarily the Area Manager Circular Economy will be responsible for: assisting the Operations Manager Circular Economy to manage Resale, Recycling and Transfer station staff over multiple sites, assist in the development of new Circular Economy opportunities, providing leadership to workers (paid and volunteer), management of staff training, and assistance with key government contracts.
NOTE: This role requires daily manual handling tasks.
