We are currently seeking a Cook to join our busy team. Our ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy commercial kitchen, with a strong understanding of Turkish cuisine and flavours.
Duties and Responsibilities: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our busy team. Our ideal candidate will have experience working in a busy commercial kitchen, with a strong understanding of Turkish cuisine and flavours. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Cook and season food according to recipe provided
- Ensure that food is prepared and stored appropriately
- Prepare ingredients for cooking
- Ensure that ingredients and food prepared meets quality standards and presentation guidelines
- Assist with menu planning
- Prepare dishes according to customer’s dietary requirement
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, food quality and presentation throughout all stages of preparation
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Train other kitchen staff as required
Requirements:
- At least 3 years work experience and/or relevant qualifications (Certificate IV)
- Previous experience working as a Cook preferably in a Turkish or Mediterranean cuisine restaurant preferred
- Solid understanding of Turkish cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavours
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a team environment
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
