The Service Technician is to support all direct and indirect revenue generating activities; contribute towards the growth of Safety Service / System business, Services and Customer Project Management Service offerings by way of providing the required Service / Systems design, installation and commissioning. The role involves supporting service, engineering, and project management to achieve profitability and retain customers in a cost-effective manner.
We require a tertiary qualified (or equivalent) electrical engineering professional with at least 2 years of experience.
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will undergo the following responsibilities and tasks.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Deliver customers’ expectation as defined in technical specification pertaining to jobs, including installations and checks on systems.
- Creating drawings and diagrams, providing material and service cost support to other departments and customers.
- Calculate test performance and engineering based on safety standards for customers, contractors and integrators.
- Create reports and recommendations using tabulations, calculations and software.
- Undertaking production calibrations, testing and training staff from an electrical perspective when required.
- Provide technical input to projects and design regarding safety regulatory and standard requirements. Assisting research and experimentation in systems and products.
- All other general electrical work as required across Australia and New Zealand.
- Participate in local and overseas travel to support the business requirement.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualified in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or equivalent certifications.
Essential skills and experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with industrial machines or machine building including switching and control systems.
- Preferred experience with industrial safety control systems, industrial technology products (e.g., PLC, switching & control, safety systems). Experience of managing projects.
- High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Able to liaise and engage with stakeholders at various levels both internal and external customers.
- Flexible to work autonomously or collaborate within a team environment.
