Job description

Hampton Harbour Boat & Sailing Club in Dampier is seeking a Full-Time Function & Service Co-Ordinator to complement our existing team.  

We are searching for a committed, proactive Function & Service Co-Ordinator who would enjoy working in an exciting, fast-paced environment. 

The Function & Service Co-Ordinator will promote and grow the business, hire and train bar staff, and ensure that patrons are receiving excellent service at all times. You will also manage inventory and resources, plan promotional events, ensure that quality and safety controls are followed, maintain current licenses and update vendor contracts, create schedules, and set business objectives to increase profits and maximize customer satisfaction. You should also be able to work with diverse personalities and diffuse tense situations.

In order to succeed as a Function & Service Co-Ordinator, you should be observant and have the ability to think critically and efficiently. You should be a skilled communicator with excellent problem-solving, observation, and interpersonal skills.

About the role:

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Immediate start for the right candidate.
  • Salary and allowances/benefits will be discussed in the interview, depending on experience. 
  • Above award rates offered.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting management in all aspects of the bar, such as keeping a current liquor license, taking inventory, and reordering supplies, tills/Eftpos reconciliations, and setting goals.
  • Assist Bar Manager in hiring and training staff to provide excellent service to patrons.
  • Creating effective schedules and quickly resolving conflicts to ensure that the bar is well staffed during peak hours.
  • Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
  • Working with diverse personalities both on the staff and patrons.
  • Planning and organizing promotional events & functions
  • Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for staff and patrons.
  • Assisting Bar Manager with supervision of all bar staff.
  • You will report directly to the Club Manager.
  • Manage and maintain relationship with all suppliers and contractors.

About you:

  • MUST have a Current RSA and Approved Managers Certificate
  • Function management experience is a must.
  • Take pride in personal presentation.
  • Excellent computer, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have fantastic organization and time management skills.  Punctuality is a must.
  • Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
  • Must be able to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods.
  • Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
  • Committed to teamwork, providing direction and leadership and creating a fun and welcoming environment for our members and guests.

Immediate start preferred.
