An independent Medical Research Institute based in Melbourne and an international leader in eye research, CERA is dedicated in its pursuit of a world free from vision loss and blindness. Its scientists conduct research to prevent vision loss and ultimately find new treatments to restore sight. About the role
The role provides an emerging fundraising specialist with the opportunity to lead the campaign fundraising portfolio within a broader multi-disciplinary digital and content marketing team.
Job Description
- Develop, produce and implement a direct mail and digital marketing plan and long-term strategies to identify, recruit, retain and develop individual giving supporters.
- Develop and produce strong appeals for donors.
- Project manage campaign activity to ensure all agreed objectives are met and to budget.
- Work with the Finance Team to prepare and maintain campaign budgets, maintain accurate financial records, ensuring recording and receipting tasks are undertaken in accordance with CERA policies and guidelines.
- Develop and execute direct Fundraising Campaigns across a range of channels, including email, social and direct mail, including the preparation of all campaign collateral and letters to supporters.
- Develop processes to ensure donations resulting from direct Fundraising Campaigns are processed in a timely manner, including sending receipts and thank-you letters.
- Coordinate the annual production of an annual report to inform donors about the impact of their giving.
- Regularly review, maintain and update fundraising collateral to ensure it meets the direct marketing strategy and is in line with CERA’s brand strategy and narrative.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders and attend events to network and maintain relationships.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience and contemporary knowledge of fundraising techniques and methods across a range of channels, including the innovative use of technology to facilitate donations. As well as this, the successful candidate should have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in marketing or a similar disciplines and/or relevant experience in a similar role.
- Hands on experience in developing and delivering campaigns across a range of channels, including direct mail and digital campaigns.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and strong time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using electronic direct mail systems and content management systems.
- Strong appeal writing skills (the ability to understand a good story for donors and how to deliver it).
- Experience with project management.
