Job description

The Metropolitan Cemeteries Board (MCB) are the caretakers of Perth’s cemeteries, entrusted to commemorate the lives of Western Australians now and into the future. We respectfully help family and friends honour the lives of loved ones and safeguard memories for future generations.

We have five permanent full-time positions available across all our Cemetries - Karrakatta Cemetery, Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park (in Padbury) and Fremantle Cemetery. Suitable applicants may be placed into a pool for future appointments for a period of up to twelve months.

About you

·        You have the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment, happy to learn new things and to help meet team objectives.

·        You have satisfaction from delivering high quality customer service and providing solutions through collaboration and technical support.

·        You have thorough attention to detail, checking and recording information accurately.

·        You are a wiz with technology and AV systems, including troubleshooting and keeping up to date information in customer databases.

·        You will align with our values of Compassion, Respect, Understanding and Integrity.

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate person who is passionate about customer service and delivery of memorial services to provide a seamless and high-quality service to clients in our beautiful cemeteries. 

The Funeral Concierge will be responsible for:

·        Implementing the funeral plan for the day to provide a seamless service to the community.

·        Maintaining and ensuring our chapels are presentable and meet the needs of the service.

·        Responding to client requests with available resources and carrying out service innovations.

·        Liaising with Funeral Directors and providing support regarding our venues and equipment.

·        Ensuring paperwork in relation to the service complies with legislation, policy and procedure.

Eligibility Requirements

1.    The recommended applicant will need to provide a National Police Clearance prior to appointment that is less than 6 months old from date of issue or obtain one prior to appointment. A criminal conviction may not preclude you from gaining employment.

2.    Australian permanent residency is a minimum requirement for permanent appointment to the West Australian Public Sector.

3.    You must hold a current and valid Western Australian Driver’s Licence.
