A very rewarding career opportunity exists with Nielsen Funerals for the role of a funeral planner and conductor.
We are a family owned, long established funeral home, with a large fully equipped chapel, based in the beautiful West Gippsland town of Warragul (VIC).
We are seeking a person, with a genuine desire to help people, to become our fourth Funeral Director.
This role involves providing professional care and support to families through all aspects of funeral service, including but not limited to:
- Arranging funeral and memorial services with grieving families in accordance with the family's wishes and requirements with excellent attention to detail.
- Conducting funeral services with the support of other staff members.
- Arranging pre-paid and pre-arranged funerals.
- Administrative duties including but not limited to answering telephones/reception enquiries.
- Assisting with the transfer of deceased persons from place of death.
The role will require you to possess:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including handwriting).
- Very high attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- Ability to show understanding, empathy and be sensitive to family's needs.
- Ability to build rapport with client families.
- Ability to work as part of our dedicated team and autonomously.
- Administration and computer skills (Microsoft Office and Email).
- Current VIC driver's licence with a good driving history.
- High level of physical fitness in order to perform manual handling tasks.
- Ability to work some overtime and participate in a shared on call roster, being on call one week in four.
Previous funeral service experience would be considered an advantage, preferably from a previous role as funeral arranger and conductor.
The successful applicant must be comfortable to undergo a police check.
Base salary + super + additional pay for after hour arrangements when on call.
