Gallery Assistant

Cooee Art Leven, the oldest First nations gallery in Australia, is seeking a proactive Gallery Assistant to support our Manager & Director. You'll play a key role in daily operations, working with art buyers, community art centres, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Registration of incoming and outgoing artworks
• Assist on sales enquiries; physically, emails and phone calls
• Assist Manager & Director with administrative tasks and exhibition organisation
• Manage inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions
• Maintain gallery cleanliness and presentation
• Greet and assist visitors, artists, and clients
• Manage social media accounts and inventory
• Support sales strategies and initiatives

Requirements:

• Indigenous applicants are encouraged to apply
• 2+ years of retail and sales experience
• 1+ year of experience in an Art Gallery
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Appreciation for art and culture
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Capacity to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a team
• Physically able to lift and move artworks and merchandise
