Cooee Art Leven, the oldest First nations gallery in Australia, is seeking a proactive Gallery Assistant to support our Manager & Director. You'll play a key role in daily operations, working with art buyers, community art centres, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Registration of incoming and outgoing artworks
- Assist on sales enquiries; physically, emails and phone calls
- Assist Manager & Director with administrative tasks and exhibition organisation
- Manage inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions
- Maintain gallery cleanliness and presentation
- Greet and assist visitors, artists, and clients
- Manage social media accounts and inventory
- Support sales strategies and initiatives
Requirements:
- Indigenous applicants are encouraged to apply
- 2+ years of retail and sales experience
- 1+ year of experience in an Art Gallery
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Appreciation for art and culture
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Capacity to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a team
- Physically able to lift and move artworks and merchandise
