Job Description:
We’re looking for a mid-high level game systems programmer with experience in Unity and C#, keen on video game development, to help the further development of systems, frameworks and tools to work with us in our Brisbane studio.
As a member of our game team, you'll be responsible for implementing VR gameplay mechanics design tools, learning systems, analytics and localisation systems, and other game systems. You'll also mentor other programmers, develop tools for designers, and collaborate closely with the Product Director to design, prototype, and implement gameplay and learning systems in virtual reality.
- Demonstrable expertise in C# and Unity for VR game development with a minimum of four years of professional games programming experience
- Experience releasing games for constrained platforms such as mobile VR, mobile phones, or consoles
- Strong foundation in game math
- Solid gameplay coding experience
- Proficiency in entity-component and object-oriented programming
- Experience optimizing, profiling, and debugging on constrained platforms
- Proficiency in developing systems, frameworks, and tools to enhance experiences and design workflows
- Ability to design architectural diagrams and solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability through effective code
- Understanding of software design patterns (observers, events, signals, services, etc.)
- Experience mentoring other programmers
- Proficiency in writing Unity Editor tooling
- Experience deploying to Android
Soft Skills & Environment:
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to convey technical and complex ideas effectively
- Previous experience in game development or VR development is highly desirable
Bonus Skills:
- Shader programming experience in Cg/HLSL or equivalent
- Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Front-end web development experience
- Experience in DevOps and automated builds
