- 2 x full time, ongoing positions available
- TCSA Salaried Employees Award, annual package starting from $58,310 (includes base salary $51,905 + plus superannuation)

Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for 2 x motivated and willing to jump in and learn Gardeners to join the team!
About the Role…
This is an entry level position for someone looking to gain a vast amount of experience in zoological horticulture! The successful candidate may provide services under instruction for the presentation of exhibits and general ground maintenance, conducting bush regeneration and revegetation techniques, assist in maintaining our urban forest and the management of browse plantations for essential animal food collection.
Key Accountabilities…
- Undertake the collection of animal fodder from external sites such Taronga’s plantations.
- Undertake a variety of landscaping projects within grounds and exhibits.
- Undertake general gardening activities as assigned, including the maintenance of allocated grounds, gardens and exhibits.
- Carries out general grounds maintenance including: maintaining current flora displays, weeding, mowing lawns and trimming hedges.
- Perform basic tasks associated with horticulture and gardening works under supervision from the Horticulture Team.
- Work effectively as a member of a high performing team, to assist Taronga in its achievement of strategic outcomes.
- Comply with Taronga’s Customer Service Charter and suggest initiatives for further improvement to ensure industry leading standards are maintained.
- Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
- Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter.
About you…
We are looking for candidates that have/ are willing to:
- Previous exposure to gardening/ grounds maintenance experience desirable
- Current NSW Drivers License (p’s license minimum)
- Pre Employment Medical (paid for by Taronga, no expense to you)
- Obtain and maintain a current paid NSW Working with Children Check if 18 years+
