Mayfield Garden needs an Administration Manager

A broad and interesting role at one of the most beautiful workplaces in Regional NSW

Mayfield is the largest cool climate garden in the southern hemisphere and one of Australia’s most significant horticultural destinations, with around 80,000 visitors per year.

The family-owned garden employs more than 50 members of the local community and is one of the major tourism attractions in the Central Tablelands. 

There is also a popular on-site restaurant at Mayfield, and we offer a ‘pop up’ glamping product at different times of the year.  Plans are well-advanced to develop further accommodation, wedding, and conference facilities.

Mayfield Garden is located near Oberon and Bathurst, between two and three hours from Sydney.  It is surrounded by a 5,000-acre working farm, also owned by the family.

What role are we looking to fill?

Mayfield is seeking an experienced generalist to take up the role of Administration Manager, with a strong focus on payroll management.

The role encompasses a broad range of skills – including payroll management and administration, financial reporting, customer service and, where necessary, even a bit of food and beverage – but our biggest requirement is finding someone who is adaptable, flexible, non-hierarchical and can lead from the front with a positive attitude.

No two days will be the same in this role.  We are a growing business and you will work with a passionate team of locals who will do whatever it takes to give our guests the best experience possible whilst helping Mayfield maintain its position as the region’s most important tourist destination.

This is an important role in the business and helps drive the working culture; you will be a pivotal member of the Mayfield team.

The role and skills

  • Finance (payroll, month-end accruals, daily reporting, superannuation)
  • Proficient with payroll software   
  • Working knowledge of MYOB 
  • Human resources support 
  • Workers’ compensation claims and management 
  • Workplace safety admin 
  • Manage technology partners.
  • Occasional café support during busy times 
  • Regular customer-facing support
