The OneSchool Global Melton Campus is Victoria’s largest site, housed in a state-of-the-art facility at the heart of High Street, Melton. Catering not only to local students, but to students from nearby Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Sunbury and Werribee, the Melton Campus comprises learning spaces for both Primary and Secondary and currently has 225 students attending onsite.
The Position:
Based predominately at our Melton Campus, we have an opportunity for an experienced General Assistant to join the team. This is a full time, permanent position.
The General Assistant is responsible for maintaining and managing the facilities, buildings, and grounds of the Campus. They are expected to fulfill assigned duties to support the operational needs of not only Melton Campus but also other Campuses when required. Additionally, they play a crucial role in promoting a positive image of the Campus to the community and the public. This encompasses various tasks related to the development, upkeep, and presentation of facilities, buildings, grounds, sports fields, lawns, and gardens.
The role involves performing bending and heavy lifting of goods, handling organic and chemical pesticides and sprays, maintaining machinery and equipment, working at heights, working in confined spaces, and operating machinery including motor vehicles. A certain level of physical fitness is necessary. The General Assistant must prioritise safety in all tasks.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this role should have:
- experience in a similar role maintaining grounds and building maintenance, preferably in a school environment.
- an understanding of basic machinery maintenance
- a current driver's license.
Desirable skills include:
- a trade certificate or comprehensive knowledge of trade skills
- certifications in Chemical Spraying, Chainsaw Operation, Work at Heights, and any other relevant certifications, or be willing to obtain them.
You must demonstrate a commitment to safety practices.
