General Building Trades Supervisor

AWB Co. is one of WA's fastest growing all trades companies, operating throughout Perth and Adelaide. We are registered builders, licensed electrical, plumbing and gas fitting contractors. Based out of Burswood, we operate throughout the Perth metro area.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Supervisor to join our results orientated, friendly and supportive team. Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, this role will be responsible for leading and overseeing carpentry, roof plumbing and General Building maintenance tradespersons within AWB’s Facility Services division.

This division provides reactive and preventative maintenance services to commercial, industrial and government properties within the Perth metropolitan area and surrounding suburbs. Work may be allocated and scheduled to the General Building Trades Supervisor by an AWB Scheduler.

The General Building Trades Supervisor must have a commitment to ensuring works are completed on time, meeting internal and external KPI’s along with a drive to achieve sales and gross profit targets. They must possess a strong safety focus with an underlying commitment to quality of workmanship.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

• Lead, direct and motivate the internal trades team, schedulers, and subcontractors in achieving trade category sales revenue and gross profit targets.
• Cultivate productive relationships with suppliers & contractors
• Provide technical support to the Service Delivery team as required 
• Drive new opportunities within your trade category with a focus on work volume, revenue, and gross profit targets.
• Overseeing the coordination and allocation of work to jobs you supervise 
• Liaising with clients in relation to job progress 
• Conducting tool boxes, pre starts and site inspections as required
• Monitor employee productivity/performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching  
• Be available to be 'On-Call' Supervisor on the Duty Roster. 

Preferred candidates will have the following:

• Tertiary qualification in Project Management or minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in project management and projects works
• Experience in managing an internal team and contractors.
• Demonstrated capability to deliver projects or services to required standards within agreed time frames.
• Strong safety knowledge and awareness
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal 
• Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to achieve strict deadlines

Previous experience in government contracts or a previous trade background would be highly regarded for this role.
