Fortescue is currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Trade Training Supervisor to join their Trade Training Team who can supervise and manage the delivery of accredited TAFE Training to both Apprentices and Pre-Apprentices along with the management of the day-to-day operations of the Trade Training Centre. Reporting directly to the Superintendent Trade Apprenticeships, you will provide critical and ongoing support to the Trade Training Team including Lecturers and Administrators in the facilitation of TAFE Training to Apprentices and Pre-Apprentices within Fortescue's Apprenticeship Program in a multitude of trade disciplines. You will be relied on for your organisation, positive attitude, diligence and pro-activeness.
In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, this leadership position will be responsible for managing, supporting and developing a team of Trade Training lecturers and support staff. The ideal candidate would best suit a highly organised candidate with a solid Registered Training Organisation (RTO) training management and delivery skill set, with experience working in an Apprenticeship/Traineeship/Accredited Training environment. A candidate with strong knowledge of the Office 365 Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), Analytics (Power BI or Tableau) and communication apps (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype etc.) would be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of the day-to-day operations of the Trade Training Centre including, but not limited to, processes, procedures, purchasing, State/Federal/RTO governance
- Management and oversight of the design, development, validation and moderation of training strategies, assessments, resources and related materials including future qualifications being implemented
- Ensuring Training Programs outlook is available a minimum of 12 months prior to training being conducted and is approved by the Superintendent Trade Apprenticeships including details of what is being delivered and the attendees
- Manage and facilitate the delivery of comprehensive Workshop and Apprenticeship/Pre-Apprenticeship inductions and familiarisations and delivery of Professional Development Trade Relevant courses to internal Tradespersons within Fortescue to ensure we are upskilling out internal workforce
- Undertake audits and safety processes as required
- Assisting in the maintenance of resulting TAFE and Professional Development Courses within Success Factors and providing support to both the Trade Training Administrators and Training Providers (Flights, accommodation, purchase orders, enrolments, learning facility checks etc)
- Trade Qualified with a Certificate III in either Heavy Mobile Equipment, Automotive Electrical, Mechanical Fitting, Fabrication, Industrial Electrical
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment TAE40116, Forklift, Dogging and Overhead Crane qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar level position within a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Experience managing accredited training operations in accordance with the ASQA/TAC/RTO framework
- Experience in the day-to-day management of training workshops including the supervision and mentoring of teams of 30+
- Have worked for an RTO or having RTO experience (Highly desirable)
