Our client seeks General Maintenance Supervisor / Handyperson to be based in Nothern Suburbs of Melbourne.

About the role:
The General Maintenance Supervisor/Handyperson is responsible for the successful implementation and management of general maintenance on site. In addition, the General Maintenance Suprvisor/ Handyperson will ensure that all maintenance issues are reported to the Plant Manager in order to work out the best solution for swift action.
Key responsibilities:
Responsible for site walkthroughs checking for plant and structural damages.
Reporting all damages on a damage report and reporting directly to Plant Manager for instruction.
Reporting moving plant to specified contractor for repairs. Eg reach and forklift repair.
Responsible for racking audits, reporting damages and in some instances repairs.
The use of power tools
Putting together office equipment eg cupboards, desks and other equipment on arrival
Ensuring housekeeping of certain areas under their control are kept clean. Eg pallet area out the back.
Ensuring that other areas are being cleaned by staff. Eg freezer sweeps.
Keeping recycling area neat and tidy. Ensuring cardboard and plastic bales tidy ready for collect.
Follow safety procedures and reporting to OHS Manager on tasks when they arise.
Experience / Licenses:
Previous experience in a similar role/capacity in maintenance or Handyman experience would be a bonus.
Must have a valid couter balance forklift licence.
Ability to follow processes and procedures accurately.
Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously.
Hands-on approach with a high attention to detail.
