Maintenance Officer / Handyperson at Hyatt Centric Melbourne
As the Maintenance Officer / Handyperson, you will be responsible for assisting the Engineering Department in ensuring the hotel is well maintained and guests’ needs are met in accordance with Hyatt International’s brand standards. Demonstrated through operating plant machinery and carrying out repairs / maintenance for front and back of house areas. Working in a team of 4, you will support the Engineering Team Leader in supervising the day to day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.
This varied and dynamic role provides you with a chance to develop your trades and engineering career within an international company; either in Australia or overseas.
Some of the responsibilities include:
· Carry out a range of maintenance and repair work to areas throughout the hotel primarily based on your main skill set, with the ability and flexibility to also multi skill.
· Attend to all guest and colleague requests in a timely and professional manner
· Perform routine inspection of all public areas and plant repairs & maintenance as required
· To monitor plant operations and conduct regular plant inspections during your shift
· Assist other trades in the completion of tasks as required
· Attend to, and report any malfunctions on plant and equipment as situations arise
· Coordinate and supervise contractors where required to ensure compliance around Hotel’s procedures regarding guest contact and safety
· The ability to create a positive first impression when interacting with guests and fellow colleagues
· The flexibility to work on a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays as and when required
