- Assist the Water Treatment Operators in the Water Treatment Plants
- Operate the Water Treatment Plants, including the Powdered Activated Carbon dosing facility and the Fluoridation plant.
- Carry out regular sampling of raw and treated water.
- Liaise with Laboratory Services Branch
- Other duties as required at this level.
- Certificate III - Water Treatment Plant Operator qualification is required to be appointed to Level 6. To be appointed at Level 5, you will be willing to obtain the qualification within 24 months of commencement.
- WH&S Competency Card for CPCCOHS1001A – Work Safely in the Construction Industry or 30215QLD – Course in General Safety Induction (Construction Industry), or a willingness to obtain this card before commencement.
- Qualifications and experience to Monitor, Operate and Report Fluoridation Systems. If not held, must be obtained within 6 months of commencement, if appointed to a Level 6 or within 24 months if appointed to Level 5.
- Current Self Contain Breathing Apparatus Statement of Attainment, if not held must obtain within 6 months of commencement.
- Current Confined Space Entry Certificate (including Breathing Apparatus). If not held, must be obtained within 6 months of commencement.
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate. If not held, must be obtained within 6 months of commencement.
- Current “C” Class Manual Driver’s Licence,
- “LF” Class forklift Licence. If not held, must be obtained within 6 months of commencement.
- Understanding of water quality requirements for the safe supply of drinking water, including quality, HACCP and the Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008.
- Experience in use of computer programmes
