Activate Perth, a dynamic not-for-profit dedicated to transforming Perth into a vibrant, artistic, and world-class city, is seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our organisation into the future.
About the role
Reporting to the Board, you will play a pivotal leadership role in driving the strategic vision of Activate Perth, ensuring operational excellence, and nurturing our sustainable growth. You will be the driving force behind reactivating vacant spaces, fostering novel partnerships, and championing innovative ideas that bring new energy to our city center.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading Activate Perth with proactive, dynamic, and inclusive leadership.
- Inspiring, coaching, and supporting team members.
- Engaging with government, media, external stakeholders, and the community to advance our mission and advocate for Activate Perth across both public and private sectors.
- Cultivating robust stakeholder relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Charting Activate Perth's course towards long-term financial sustainability and establishing a prominent reputation for delivering significant social, economic, and cultural impact within the Perth CBD.
- Developing and implementing our strategic and operational plans in collaboration with the Board.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven senior leadership experience, with the ability to guide and develop a team.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills to act as a prominent ambassador and spokesperson for Activate Perth.
- Financial acumen, commercial insight, and adeptness with technology.
- A sound understanding of the commercial/retail property sector is highly desirable.
- Experience navigating government grants and the acquittal process is desirable.

This role is based in our central office in the Perth CBD and may occasionally require work outside regular office hours, such as attending events. Flexibility will be provided at management's discretion.
