Job description

OARS CT deliver innovative and successful services and support to clients who have high needs. The demand for these services has required significant growth of our specialist intervention programs and staffing and we anticipate this will continue. As a result, we have created a new General Manager role, who will be dedicated to overseeing these services and be part of our Executive team.

As an experienced manager you will have extensive knowledge and experience overseeing the successful delivery of specialist services, supports, and interventions to men who have used violence, abuse, or control in their relationships.  Significant knowledge and understanding of the Family/Domestic Violence service sector and systems, including intervention/treatment services with perpetrators of abuse, control and/or violence.

We are seeking a senior leader who will be dedicated to the growth and development of services within this space, who can further develop and lead our professional and highly recognised prevention and intervention programs already operating under ‘Don’t Become That Man’.  This will include vision to design and implement new broad based prevention programs and intervention/treatment services, including innovative interventions and priorities outlined in the National Plan to End Violence Against Women and Children 2022 – 2032 prioritising the safety of women and children by working with men to take responsibility for their behaviour.

With a growth mindset, you will have a collaborative approach, demonstrate sector, operational, and management experience, and be reflective as well as willing to learn from and advance with your team.

 Responsibility for the Position:

  1. Lead and oversee the team's performance and development to meet both strategic and operational goals and the day-to-day service delivery requirements.
  2. Build and develop relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders.
  3. Creation of high quality and effective services to ensure safety of women and children by working with perpetrators of coercive control, abuse, or violence.
  4. Proactively promote and grow the Family/Domestic Violence Prevention Services provided by OARS CT
  5. Oversee data entry, system audits, reporting, invoicing and be actively involved in the acquittals processes, with the support of our CFO.

 Education, training, and experience:

  • Mid to Senior-level success in managing services for clients who are vulnerable.
  • A Human Services degree or significant relevant experience in a senior manager role.
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of domestic and family violence as a whole and particularly working with perpetrators for the safety of women and children.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, consultation, and communication skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder engagement.
  • The capacity to create, adhere to, and interpret financial data and support the team to deliver service within budget.

The salary for this role is $130 to $145K per annum depending upon skills and experience. Benefits include 22 days annual leave and 12 days sick leave per annum, salary sacrifice options, and a salary sacrifice vehicle option. Some Working from Home is possible after the induction period.

Interested parties are asked to send through their CV and a Covering letter or summary outlining their experience against the five key responsibilities listed above via SEEK. The Job and Person Specification is available on our website: www.communitytransitions.com.au

For an informal, confidential conversation about the role please contact the Deputy CEO, Louise Kelly on 0438 268 *** during office hours.

This is a business-critical role, and OARS CT will be interviewing suitable candidates as they arise, so early applications are encouraged.
