About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a General Manager, Stormwater Management Authority in the Water Security, Policy and Planning Branch. The General Manager has overall responsibility for administration, delivering projects and developing policy advice for the Stormwater Management Authority (SMA), an independent statutory Authority. This includes driving Stormwater Management planning across the State in collaboration with local government, providing strategic advice to the Stormwater Management Authority Board in relation to the exercise of its functions as specified in Schedule 1A of the Local Government Act 1999 and overseeing elements related to the implementation of the SMA Strategic Plan.
The General Manager plays a key role in engaging with local government to facilitate the implementation of large-scale Stormwater Management plans and engaging directly with State Government Agencies and other relevant stakeholders (including industry) to ensure a consistent policy approach to Stormwater Management in South Australia.
The incumbent is also responsible for undertaking financial management, executive and administrative related functions to support the SMA, including the operation of the Stormwater Management Fund, preparing key issue briefings and communicating the SMA’s role to relevant stakeholders and the general public.
