The Raisebore Australia Group (RBA) is the largest privately owned raiseboring company and has been operating in the mining and civil industries in Australia for nearly 30 years. During that time it has carried out projects internationally in 6 countries.
The Group comprises of a raiseboring division (RBA), a boutique mining development division, known as 360 Mining, and an exploration and underground diamond drilling division known as DRC Drilling.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Group's operations. The successful candidate will be an experienced mining professional with the ability to drive strategic operational outcomes and improvement initiatives, ensuring that contractual obligations are met, safely and efficiently.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Operation Managers and Superintendents ensuring day-to-day operational targets are achieved.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our clients to ensure that our contractual obligations are met or exceeded.
- Preparation and submission of Tenders and any required Contract Variations.
- Support the Operation Managers to ensure that all end-of-month claim requirements are prepared and submitted efficiently.
- Ensure resources, systems, and processes are in place across all manning and equipment needs for operational effectiveness.
- Work closely with the Group Safety Manager to strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of health and safety.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our employees and promote the Company’s key values.
- Continuously work alongside the Financial Controller and support service teams to improve internal business processes and systems.
The successful Candidate will be required to be based in Adelaide at the Groups Head Office with regular travel to operational sites and satellite offices in Perth and Cobar.
ABOUT YOU
- Must have extensive experience within the mining industry, specifically in relation to contract mining and preferably within raise drilling.
- Demonstrated experience as a General Manager or equivalent Senior Manager, with a proven track record of being able to manage and deliver on the required accountabilities.
- Have strong leadership capabilities and willingness to drive a collaborative culture.
- Can lead, manage, and engage people across all levels of a business.
- Experience with tender preparation, financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and cost management.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding and experience with the tendering and management of contracts.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of safety systems/processes and legislative requirements.
