About the Role
Reporting to the Executive General Manager Service Delivery, the role of General ManagerWorks Delivery is accountable for overseeing the planning, delivery and safe execution of all maintenance and minor capital field work across Water Supply, Sewerage, Drainage, Waterways and Catchments for Melbourne Water, ensuring optimisation of internal and external resources, and efficiency of delivery.
- Oversee the integration, development and management of a centralised delivery plan (Works Plan) driving consistency across all like functions, ensuring an optimal balance of business and customer priorities, financial plan objectives, regulatory requirements and business objectives.
- Ensure regular uplift of the optimisation and continuous improvement frameworks that support the delivery of the planned and reactive Maintenance and Minor Capital Programs.
- Oversee the delivery of a Works Management (Planning and Scheduling) Transformation Program driving centralisation, standardisation, and adoption of best in class contemporary and continuous improvement approaches.
- Oversee the tendering and management of the Maintenance Management and Delivery contract, the Field Service and Field Civil Panels and all associated contracts.
- Oversee business administration and delivery reporting to support and enable the delivery of maintenance and minor capital works across Service Delivery.
- Embed Risk Management and Safety Leadership culture across Works Delivery.
About you:
- You will have extensive enterprise leadership experience across a large and diverse operational workforce, ideally from the utilities industry or similar 24/7 operational environments.
- High energy to take action and drive business results, with the capability for strong visibility across all sites.
- You will have demonstrated experience as an active Leader to positively drive and inspire the workforce across a large geographical landscape.
- Ability to lead with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency across safety and risk management.
- You will have exceptional level communication, relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strong sense of commercial business acumen and working within a regulated environment.
