THE ROLE
Applications are sought from experienced Underground Geology Technicians to join the team at Ora Banda.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
- Manage daily tasks and liaise with leadership team to prioritise work.
- Liaison with the underground drilling team
- Maintain high QAQC standards for drill core processing operations which include mark-up, orientation, photography, RQD, densities, sampling etc
- Collect, record and transport samples of rock
- Sample preparation, core sampling and sample despatch
- Collate information collected from a range of samples and carry out computer processing of the data
- Ensure compliance at all times with the Companies QAQC procedures
- Error-free sample dispatch to ensure that all relevant samples are dispatched to the relevant laboratory through the proper dispatch process
- Assist with underground mapping
- Undertake vehicle checks
- Data entry and other computer tasks
- Maintain adequate stock items for day to day production requirements
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Previous relevant exploration and/or underground experience is highly regarded
- Enjoy a broad range of physical field related duties
- Diamond Core processing and sampling experience is highly regarded
- Ability to work effectively within a small team
- Good communication skills – written and oral
- Computing skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Must have a strong safety focus
- Current C class manual driver’s licence
- Forklift ticket is highly regarded
- Senior First Aid certificate desirable
