One of Australia's innovative Federal Government departments is looking to engage an experienced Geospatial Solution Architect / GIS Solution Lead to aid in the establishment of the vision for GIS capability, future state architecture, blueprint and investment pipeline for the Department. The Successful Geospatial Solution Architect / GIS Solution Lead will be offered a 6 month contract with extensions and flexible work arrangements.
The successful Geospatial Solution Architect / GIS Solution Lead will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- The enhancement and modernisation of the enterprise ICT environment and the enterprise Data and Digital Science capabilities strategy.
- Identify core geospatial capabilities and constraints and establish an agreed geospatial strategy and associated future state architecture.
- Ensure the GIS future state and roadmap integrates with and complements Enterprise Architecture work currently in development, in addition to other capability domains such as database and Cloud strategies.
- Provide advanced knowledge of current and future technology and software for GIS and practical advice and support for GIS personnel as needed.
The successful Geospatial Solution Architect / GIS Solution Lead will have experience in the following:
- Previous experience in a Geospatial Solution Architect or similar role within a large enterprise environment.
- Experience establishing GIS capabilities, future state architectures, blueprints and investment pipelines.
- Strong understanding of how processes, operating systems and geospatial application architectures work together across a complicated technical landscape to
- Experience in engaging with internal stakeholders and working effectively as part of a team is essential.
