Mount Owen Glendell Operations (MGO) Mine located in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales, 20 kilometres North of Singleton, contains the Mt Owen and Glendell open cut mines. The integration of these operations enables all sites to use a single coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP) and infrastructure at Mt Owen Mine.
An opportunity exists for a Technical Services Manager at MGO to provide effective and innovative leadership to achieve organisational targets. Reporting to the Operations Manager as an integral member of MGO's Senior Leadership Team, you will provide strong leadership to drive a high-performance culture, role modelling and reinforcing the behaviours that will underpin the success of our operation.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic mine planning direction and management of all aspects of the Technical Services portfolio
- Developing, implementing and monitoring technical initiatives to ensure the delivery of business and strategic objectives
- Supporting and influencing behaviours at all levels
- Providing leadership and guidance to a specialist team of engineering, geological and surveying professionals
The requirements for success in this role include a strong technical and commercial understanding of engineering in the coal industry, including knowledge of applicable statutory regulations, coupled with comprehensive and proven management experience. You will have tertiary qualifications in an Engineering discipline and/or Business Management.
A NSW Open Cut Mine Manager Certificate of Competency or willingness to obtain one will be highly regarded as will other related mining engineering qualifications. To be considered for this opportunity you must have extensive experience in the field of Technical Services, and to have worked in leadership roles as part of that experience. Exceptional leadership capability, proven relationship building skills and commercial astuteness will be complemented by well-developed communication, interpersonal and influencing abilities.
