The Opportunity
We have a number of Glass Processors (Glazing) opportunities our Tingalpa site. These roles will be based on Afternoon Shift, and will attract the relevant shift loading.
Responsibilities may include
• Glass Handling - manual and overhead crane operation
• Determining type and dimensions of glass required
• Laying glass over patterns on padded tables and in jigs
• Measuring and marking glass for cutting
• Examining glass and marking defective areas
• Cutting along patterns and templates
• Breaking off sheets and excess glass with notched tools and glass pliers
• Smoothing rough edges using belt sanders and smoothing wheels
• May coat, cut, etch, trim and treat glass to achieve special effects
• Operating Glass Furnace
• General housekeeping
• Maintain a safe working environment
Our ideal candidate
• Solid experience (2+ years) in a similar role within the Glass industry
• Experience with Glass Processing manufacturing/processing machinery, preferably LiSEC
• Experience in operating computer-controlled equipment, including monitoring and adjusting process settings (Eg Automation, CNC, Furnace)
• Relevant qualifications would be preferred, but not mandatory
• Ability to understand and follow detailed production schedules
• Ability to problem solve
• Quality focused and driven with a high attention to detail
• Safety conscious, ensuring a safe work environment
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and a team player
Salary Details
• Salary is $70,010 - $74,713 depending on skills and experience, aligned with the EBA and inclusive of the shift allowance.
