AddressWe are seeking experienced Support Workers to work with our clients based in the Northern Gold Coast area, predominantly Hope Island, Pimpama & Ormeau areas. We are looking for people who have experience in dementia, behavioural support and experience supporting those with mental health issues. The ideal candidate will have knowledge on best practice around supporting someone with patterns of alcohol abuse. The position is casual, with the option to go permanent after a 6-month review. Our client requires complex care and therefore, we are only taking Support Workers with experience for this role. Your main duties will involve:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Our clients, who often have disabilities like spinal cord injuries, dementia or degenerative conditions such as MS, undergo significant identity changes due to their disability. It's crucial to acknowledge and address the grief they may experience as a result. It's crucial to recognise that when delivering care, we're in their home, following their routine, and they deal with the condition daily. Carers must be receptive, listening to their needs, and collaborating to offer optimal support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing behavioural support to the client ensuring their well-being and safety.
- Managing medication and assisting clients with emotional health support.
- Experience with Dementia.
- Assisting people with Substance Use disorders
- Assisting with domestic duties and organisation to create a comfortable and nurturing environment.
- Facilitating community access for clients, promoting their social engagement and inclusion.
- Personal Care routines.
Must be available for BOTH day shifts and sleepover shifts.
Must have or willing to obtain:
- NDIS worker screening card
- Valid First Aid & CPR
- NDIS orientation module
- Individual Support Cert or equivalent experience
- Valid Driver's License & reliable vehicle
- Manual Handling Certificate
