About the roleReporting to the Superintendent Mine Planning this challenging and exciting role will see you leading a small team of Mine Planning engineers to achieve their core routines, deliver executable dragline and dozer push plans and produce optimised mining sequences and schedules.This is a Senior Engineer position with a focus on safely and sustainably maximising asset value in the 3 to 18 month Dragline and Dozer Push planning space with key deliverables centred on maximising efficiency and productivity in this system.
In this role you will:- Safely and sustainable maximise asset value by doing the basics well;
- Provide coaching and mentoring to your team to enable best practice;
- Provide governance over plan inputs to ensure plan feasibility;
- Deliver executable 12-Month Dragline and Dozer Push plans;
- Work closely with external stakeholders (Tactical Planning, Marketing, Integrated Operations and site Operations) to understand key value drivers in any given planning horizon and embed in optimised mine plans;
- Deliver the first year of the 2 Year Budget for the Dragline/Dozer system with support from multiple stakeholders; and
- Leverage experience and capability to drive and implement Mine Planning Improvement initiatives.
- The role offers a 5/2 or 4/3 roster pattern with flexibility by agreement.
About YouAs the successful candidate, you will have a tertiary education in Mining Engineering with previous experience working at an operations level. Your demonstrated experience working in mine planning teams particularly planning and scheduling for Truck-Shovel and Dragline mines will see you succeed in this role. Dragline design and sequencing is a core pre-requisite for the successful candidate.As well as your strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will have demonstrated ability to build relationships across departments and able to communicate at all levels. A strong working knowledge of design and scheduling tools (Deswik/Vulcan/SPRY) will provide an adequate foundation for the role.You will also be a performance and achievement-oriented professional, who is motivated by exceeding expectations and providing excellent results.
