- Southern Adelaide Local Health Network - Noarlunga Hospital - Emergency Department
- Total Indicative Remuneration: $451,185 - $528,341 p.a. (pro rata) MDO2 | Full Time, 12 Month Vacancy
The Emergency Department (ED) provides emergency services to the southern area, treating approximately 43,000 people a year. The Noarlunga Hospital ED is open 24 hours, seven days a week and 24 hour x-ray and pathology facilities are available on site. Our ED team consists of medical officers, registered and enrolled nurses, clerical staff and client support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
As a GP Emergency Department Consultant your responsibilities will include exercising a high degree of professional judgment and clinical competence in a multi-disciplinary setting. Additionally, you will be entrusted with the overall smooth day-to-day management of the clinical floor. Some work in the hospital wards may be required, as directed by the relevant heads of those services.
In this role, you will respond to hospital MET/Code Blue/Code Black calls as necessary during your allocated shifts. Your extensive knowledge and skills will be utilised to provide supervision, training, and direction to more junior staff. Active participation in teaching and quality assurance activities, along with undertaking health promotion and community education activities, is an integral part of this role.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration, or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
- Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
- The ability to work independently, exercising a high level of professional judgment and medical competence in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Extensive clinical and procedural skills experience relevant to work in Emergency Medicine.
