We provide care and assist with births for 10,000 parents a year. Monash Health, Monash Women's provides maternity services at Monash Medical Centre Clayton campus, Dandenong Hospital, Casey Hospital and Sandringham Hospital.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic, suitably qualified and experienced General Practitioner Lactation Consultant for our Maternity Services. The successful applicants for the GPLC role will provide breastfeeding support services at Monash Medical Centre Maternity Clinic and will be responsible for providing education and support to all areas of Maternity Services where needed. They will have an understanding of the principles of the Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI) and will be responsible for the delivery of evidence based high quality breastfeeding care and education to the women and her partner as well as to their colleagues within the Program. The GP Lactation Consultant will contribute to the ongoing evaluation and auditing of the clinics to help Monash Health lactation services become more efficient. The GPLC is responsible for liaising with members of the multidisciplinary team where appropriate.
What you need:
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Current IBCLC certification
Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (or equivalent)
Working with Children's Certificate
