Job description

  • Grade 3 - Senior Physiotherapist opportunity
  • Kew and Fairfield location
  • Permanent, part time 0.6 FTE (22.8 hours/week); Wednesdays and Fridays essential, other day negotiable

About the Role
The primary responsibility of the role will be to provide senior clinical care; including assessment, treatment, evaluation and follow-up for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clients. The role will ensure delivery of an effective, efficient, clinically relevant cardiopulmonary service.

You will also be responsible for supervision/support of other staff, service development and ensuring that the program provides high quality, evidence based clinical services that lead to improved health outcomes for clients.

  • Direct clinical provision of high quality and evidence-based cardiopulmonary assessment, intervention, education and management
  • Provide and co-ordinate education to staff, clients and their families to enhance their understanding and management of their cardiopulmonary disease
  • Act as a resource for other departments in clinical matters
  • Lead quality initiatives and service development activities across HIP in relation to cardiopulmonary service provision
  • Provide supervision and clinical support to staff and physiotherapy students

Classifications for this position will range from VB7 - VC1 ($100,089 - $114,358 per annum, pro rata for part time).

Your Contribution

  • Current AHPRA registration as a qualified Physiotherapist
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience as a qualified physiotherapist
  • Experience working with clients with cardiopulmonary conditions or willing to undertake training/education and mentoring
  • Effective communication skills
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About Health Independence Program
This position is part of the Health Independence Program (HIP). The intent of HIP is to deliver improved outcomes for clients and to support hospital demand management and flow, through delivering integrated and coordinated care to clients across the hospital and community interface, reducing duplication and fragmentation of services and ensuring client centred care planning.

The position is part of the HIP Community Rehabilitation team. Community rehabilitation is currently provided from our centres at Kew and Fairfield.

The key aim of Community Rehabilitation is to help people who are recovering from traumatic injury or illness, are frail or chronically ill to regain optimal function and to allow people to maximise their independence.

The programs offer a supportive and dynamic team environment which focusses on patient-centred care.
