The Opportunity:
Talis is seeking the services of a Graduate Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineer to assist in the delivery of Civil Infrastructure projects including design of road pavements, road alignment, earthworks, drainage and associated civil engineering design works. This position offers training and growth opportunities while working on a range of significant civil engineering infrastructure projects across WA for a diverse array of clients.
Position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Feasibility Assessments and financial modelling;
- Technical input on road design projects including:
- Road alignment design;
- Surface water management and drainage systems;
- Earthworks;
- Road Pavement design;
- Traffic management systems;
- Retaining walls;
- Structures;
- Design input to support approval applications;
- Preparation of Tender Documentation including Construction Specifications and Bills of Quantities;
- Administration and evaluation of tender processes;
- Contract Administration during construction;
- Construction Supervision and Quality Assurance;
- Fieldwork including site investigations and inspections;
- Application of advanced engineering techniques, procedures, and standards;
- Preparation of technical reports to document engineering analysis and findings; and
- Supporting senior staff members.
Position requirements:
- Civil / Geotechnical Degree;
- Previous experience of civil engineering works including field works and consultancy experience.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills;
- Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with staff, managers, and clients;
- A good understanding of design of civil infrastructure including roads and drainage design applications.;
- Ability to solve problems utilising existing procedures; and
- Proficiency in using engineering design software including AutoCAD (preferable) will also be considered favourably.
