About the role

We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Graduate Electrical Engineer to join Sandvik’s Ground Engaging Tools Division (SHARK) to launch their career in the Mining Industry. This will initially be 6 month fixed term contract with an opportunity to extend. You will be working alongside some of the sharpest minds in the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) space and gain invaluable exposure to new technology. The position itself will be based out of our office space in Kenwick where we have on-site workshop and distribution centre.

As the Graduate Electrical Engineer you will play vital role in assisting your team in achieving their day-to-day operations and meeting crucial deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include: (but not limited to)

  • Support smart shroud & other digital products
  • Supporting, scoping & managing third party suppliers
  • Support product test & trials
  • Support in future improvement, developments & Troubleshooting

Your profile

  • You have recently completed or nearing the completion of either an Electrical or Mechatronics Tertiary Degree
  • You will have a genuine interest in mining heavy duty equipment and new technology
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on practical experience in the mixed disciplines of control; computing, electronics, electrical, communication, coding, and mechanical engineering, including hobby and university projects – desirable
  • Experience using one or many of the EDA tools: Altium, OrCAD or similar – desirable
  • Engineering experience in IoT, sensors and RF communication – desirable
  • Experience on the development of automation systems using one or many of the following communication busses: EtherCAT, Modbus, CAN and/or ProfiBus – desirable
  • Experience on any of the following programming/scripting languages: Python, C, C++ or similar packages – desirabled
