Graduate Engineer (Mechanical)

LCI is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer for our Sydney office to commence immediately and join the 2024 Graduate Program.  We are an engineering design house specialising in building services. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for a graduate who can think out of the box and have a natural tendency to contribute to collaborative problem solving in a multi-disciplinary environment. 

The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering and implementing high-quality engineering designs, preparing engineering documentation, drawings, calculations and reporting to meet project timelines.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• Excellent interpersonal skills 
• Time-management skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills 
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Advanced computer skills
• Knowledge of engineering practices, architectural and structural drawings and building services design principles to complete drawings is a great bonus but not mandatory
• Demonstrated capacity to develop relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and negotiate desired outcomes
• Ability to develop high-level technical competence and quality

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Liaise with engineers and clients to discuss existing or potential mechanical projects and products.
• Design mechanical systems to customer requirements and specification that adheres to relevant health and safety standards, regulations and legislation. 
• Read design specifications and technical drawings, research suitable solutions and estimate costs and time.
• Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish design specifications.
• Attend meetings on-site to monitor work status and compliance to specifications.
• Prepare documentation, write reports and give presentations to client/management.
• Prepare and study technical drawings and specifications of mechanical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
• Plan and manage projects from end-to-end or work in specific parts of a project cycle.
• Develop budgets, estimating labour, material, and construction costs
• Work with others cooperatively in multidisciplinary teams to achieve desired project outcomes.
• Professional Development and Training. 
• Develop skills in the use of Heat load estimation and energy modelling.
