About the role
Reporting to the Contaminated Lands (CL) Team Leader, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of a diverse range of CL investigations from preliminary fieldwork investigations through to remediation projects to JBS&G and our clients.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Assist with fieldwork investigations relating to soil, sediment, groundwater, vapour, landfill gas, and remediation maintenance infrastructure.
- Investigate and manage hazardous materials and acid sulfate soils.
- Support development of reports providing complete field notes, data input, preparation and interpretation consistent with relevant guidance to ensure technical defensibility.
- Engage in quality relationships with project managers and teams, clients, and contractors.
- Support preparation of proposals building an awareness of accurate cost calculations and appropriate scoping.
About you
- Graduate role (or up to 3 years’ experience and knowledge in Contaminated Sites fieldwork is ideal).
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or Engineering is essential, with an understanding of earth sciences highly desirable.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to support writing reports and proposals.
- Willingness to undertake fieldwork, sometimes at remote sites with minimal supervision.
- Ability to build and maintain strong team and client relationships.
- Basic understanding of applicable WA Env/Contaminated Sites (CS) legislation and WA and National CS guidelines is desirable.
- Full drivers’ licence, and willingness to obtain a police and medical clearance.
