Graduate Lawyer

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Graduate Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to clients across a range of industries. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law graduate to gain valuable experience and develop their legal skills.

Responsibilities:

• Draft legal documents, including contracts and other agreements

• Observes client interviews to learn:

 how to explain legal concepts to lay people

 how to thoroughly go through a contract of sale

 how to canvas a client’s options

• Compile lease and sale reports to:

 become familiar with the types of clauses contained in such contracts

 learn how to summarise for the client his/her most important contractual and statutory rights/obligations

 provide information for the client so she/he can assess whether the contract is appropriate for his/her purposes and seek advice if changes sought or further clarification needed

• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on a range of legal issues

• Conduct legal research and analysis

• Collaborate with senior lawyers and partners on complex matters

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client files and records

• Attend client meetings and participate in negotiations

• Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and case law

• Maintaining files and progressing matters to completion

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Law or Juris Doctor (JD)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong time management and organisational skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
