About Us
Morgan Conley is a boutique law firm located in the Brisbane CBD with a thriving commercial, litigation and insolvency practice. We operate a collaborative practice, and you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from each of our four directors.
We are conveniently located in 239 George Street, with easy access to Queen Street Mall and public transport. The building includes recently renovated end-of-trip facilities including showers, lockers and secure bike racks.
About the role
The role is predominantly focused on residential and commercial conveyancing and property law, but the successful applicant will also have the opportunity to expand into litigation and insolvency at a later stage should they wish.
Your duties will include:
- Handling residential and commercial conveyancing files, including liaising with clients, agents, other law firms, banks and brokers;
- Working with and supervising (subject to your experience) conveyancing paralegals;
- Working with property developers, landlords, tenants in respect of leasing and development of residential, retail, commercial and industrial land;
- Drafting commercial agreements and providing advice to clients in respect of same;
- Assisting the directors and senior lawyers in complex property matters.
Your salary will commensurate with your experience.
About you
You should have a law degree and either:
- be studying or have recently completed your practical legal training; or
- be a solicitor admitted to practice in Queensland.
The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, confident, reliable and willing to work as part of a close-knit team. Experience in conveyancing or property transactions will be looked on favourably, but is not a requirement.
Ideal background and skills include:
- Experience in conveyancing and property law;
- Knowledge of the PEXA program is advantageous;
- Strong client relation skills;
- Strong time management and organisational skills together with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities simultaneously;
- Be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously;
- Strong attention to detail.
